This abstract macraweave piece is inspired by the vibrant and natural colors of the Oregon Coast: teal, green, white, and amber brown. Macraweaving combines techniques of macrame with weaving.

Materials: Made with recycled cotton macrame cord, merino wool roving, yarn, and wooden dowel. 

Care: Once you hang your piece, use your fingers to gently comb out the fringe.

Size: 20 inches wide, 26 inches long

Kristi Nakata is a Yonsei (fourth generation) Japanese American fiber artist born and raised in the Seattle area, on Duwamish and Coast Salish land. Kristi’s macraweave wall hangings combine techniques of macrame and weaving. Inspired by the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, she creates mountainscapes and abstract interpretations of the colors of our region.
